The registration fee includes admission to ITST 2005 conferences, poster and exhibition sessions, the proceedings, the coffee breaks, three lunches Monday 27 - Tuesday 28 - Wednesday 29, the Welcome Reception on Monday 27, the Banquet on Tuesday 28, the technical tour with transport to the airport on Wednesday 29)

Full payment of registration is required by April 30 for publication of each paper.

Cancellations

For registrations cancelled before 27 May 2005, 40% of the fees paid will be refunded. Withdrawals after that date as well as noshows will be charged in full, according to their respective bookings. There can be no reductions for late arrival, early departure or any meal not taken.

Technical Tours : on Wednesday 29, 12:30 (included in the registration fee)

During ITST 2005, on 29th June (afternoon), the technical tour organizers propose a choice of tour among 5 possibilities. These are all important technical and technological sites in the Brest area :

1. Thales Aerospace Division in the field of Defense Electronics. (for this tour, you must register before June 15)

  • World-class expertise in radar systems, electronics warfare, missions computers and real-time software.

2. Ifremer in the field of Ocean and the Environment. (for this tour, you must register before June 15)

  • Coastal environment management
  • Marine living resource management
  • Ocean research and developing marine biotechnologies
  • Engineering and marine technology
  • Managing ocean research vessels and tools for underwater intervention

3. ENST Bretagne in the field of training and research. + Autocruise in the field of vehicle driving assistance.


ENST Bretagne

A high level training institution in information technologies and communication and a research center with topics like:

  • Communication and information coding (turbo-codes)
  • Computing and networks
  • Optical communications
  • Microwave technologies for IT and communications
  • Socio-economics of IT and communications
  • Information processing, cognitive science, linguistics
  • Biomedical engineering and health
  • Ocean engineering, the environment and Defense

Autocruise

Subsidiary of TRW. World leader in the Adaptative Cruise Control market (ACC). ACC regulates speed and maintains a gap between a vehicle and the vehicle immediately ahead. ACC are developed and produced in Plouzané near Brest (west part of Brittany - France).

4. Brest Area Control Center in the field of air traffic control. (for this tour, you must register before May 27)

The West Area Control Centre (West Acc) based in Loperhet (near Brest) in western France's Finistère region, handles air traffic safety and ensures flight regularly in west and north-west European airspace, which is under France's juridiction. The West ACC's zone of responsibility covers some 400,000square kilometers and includes a large maritime section.

In addition to controlling flights serving airfields in its zone of responsibility, the West ACC's principal traffic control includes :

  • flights between northern Europe and the Iberian Peninsula, western Africa and the Canary Islands
  • flights linking Europe and the Near East to North America and Caribbean
  • movements between the United Kingdom and the Mediterranean Basin

5. The Monge, a test and measurement ship in the domain of trajectory calculation, and tracking and analysis radars (for this tour, you must register before May 27 and send by fax (33.(0).2.98.33.95.50) a photocopy of your passport to Céline Kerhuel, "Le Quartz" Centre de Congrès)

The principal missions of this ship are: trajectory calculation of the ballistic or tactic missiles, satellite tracking and implementation or air target tracking for training in the armed forces. Its measurement system, built around tracking and analysis radars as well as powerful computers, also includes a complete telemetry system, a weather analysis module, an optical tracking system and telecommunications equipment.
The Monge works for the Direction des Centres d'Essais (DCE), an entity of the Délégation Générale pour l'Armement (DGA). The Monge also collects and exploits the ARIANE 5 launching parameters.
