Mobile Learning

Course 1: Introduction

The main goal of the course is to clarify the different notions related to mobile, ubiquitous and pervasive computing in the context of ambient intelligence. Based on these notions, we will analyse the different dimensions and challenges related to the technological, pedagogical and implementation views on the design of mobile learning

Course 2: A Theory of Learning for the Mobile Age (Mike Sharples, University of Nottingham)

The main goals of this course is to provide a definition and/or the main features of mobile learning and to propose a theory of learning for a mobile society which encompasses both learning supported by mobile devices and learning in mobility.

  • Criteria for a theory of mobile learning
  • Learning as conversation
  • Learning and context
  • The dialectical relationship between learning and technology
  • Education in the mobile age

The main idea is to provide an overview of mobile learning before going in depth on different aspects.
