Ibrahim Hoteit received the Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the University Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France, in 2002. He was a research scientist at Scripps Institution of Oceanography before joining KAUST as an Associate Professor with a joint appointment in the Earth Sciences and Engineering and the Applied Mathematics and Computational Science programs. His research interests include modeling and simulation of large scale environmental fluid systems on supercomputers, with specific focus on data assimilation and inverse applications in oceanography and associated uncertainty quantification. He has authored over 100 peer reviewed journal papers and is a co-recipient of five best conference paper awards.
