Practical information

  • Monday 6th of July (9 AM to 12 AM): welcome of the participants at Telecom Bretagne
  • Friday 10th of July (12 AM): end of the summer school

Program

The Summer School will comprise five main lectures:

  • Lecture 1: Introduction to spatial oceanography (data aquisition, overview, problematic)
  • Lecture 2: Spatio-temporal statistics (random fields, covariance functions, inference, kriging, simulations)
  • Lecture 3: Data assimilation methods (state-space models, Ensemble Kalman Filter, Lorenz model)
  • Lecture 4: Spatio-temporal interpolation (application of the Kalman filter on SST satellite data)
  • Lecture 5: Visualization tools for multi-sensor spatio-temporal remote sensing data

Each lecture will include both a theoretical course and a practical session with applications to multi-sensor remote sensing datasets. A poster session will provide opportunities for the participants to introduce and discuss their research interests with the other participants and the speakers.
